This year’s conference, “Peer-ing Forward: The Future of Peer Services in California,” will focus on California’s Public Behavioral Health Transformation (BHT) and what it means for the peer workforce and consumer-operated agencies statewide. The full-day event will bring together peers, advocates, and system leaders for learning, discussion, and policy engagement.

The morning will feature findings from over 200 peers who participated in Cal Voices’ 2024–2025 Peer Workforce Surveys, highlighting working conditions, certification trends, and workforce challenges. These insights will guide a peer-led panel discussion centered on lived experience. In the afternoon, leaders from consumer-operated agencies will discuss how the BHT is impacting their organizations and share strategies to preserve and strengthen grassroots, peer-run approaches. We will close the day with a BHT Stakeholder Policy Workshop, focused on identifying urgent policy priorities in preparation for the California Gubernatorial Forum in February 2026, which Cal Voices will co-host.
