Cal Voices is a dynamic, rapidly evolving organization that is always looking for a few good peers to join our team. If you are interested in working with us, please note:

• We are a peer-run organization. Over 90% of our staff identify as consumers, family members, or both. Most of our positions require individuals to have personal lived experience as a consumer, family member, parent/caregiver, or transition age youth. This lived experience is a necessary prerequisite, but it is not the only qualification we look for in job applicants. 
   

• No late applications. Cal Voices will not accept applications submitted after the deadlines listed on our job announcements, unless we have officially extended these deadlines.
   

• Only online applications are accepted. Cal Voices will not consider resumes or other application materials submitted by email, fax, or in-person. The link to Cal Voices' online application is provided in each job announcement we post, or you can access it by clicking here.
   

• Do your homework. We want to hire the right person, not a warm body. Learn about our agency, who we are, and what we do before you apply. Read about our programs on our website. Your application will tell us whether you really want to work at Cal Voices or just want a job.
   

• Be prepared. Read the entire job announcement and keep a copy of it with you when you complete the online application, as several questions will ask you to respond to specific information listed in the announcement. You must upload an electronic copy of your resume in the online application. A separate cover letter is not required. The online application asks you to provide the names and contact information for three professional references, so make sure this information is up-to-date and ready to go. 
   

• Take your time. The online application may take up to 30 minutes, as it replaces the need for a cover letter and screening interview. You can save your progress at any time and return later to complete your application before the deadline. When reviewing your application, we will consider how your responses reflect your qualities as a potential employee. Your ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail, as well as your demonstrated thoughtfulness, thoroughness, accuracy, spelling, and grammar all matter. Slow down and make your responses count.
