About the Role
School Aged Treatment Program (SATS) is designed to support children and youth with a mental health disorder that interferes with their academic performance or functioning in their family, school, or community. SATS serves children and youth ages 0-21. Program referrals typically come from schools, social workers, DBH, self-referrals, etc. Services typically include therapy, case management, rehabilitation services, groups, etc. and are provided in the field (home, school, community) and by telehealth.
The Parent Partner/Peer Specialist provides support and resources to parents/caregivers to promote a successful home placement. They engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with clients served that assist the person to explore, create, and meet their goals. The Parent Partner/Peer Specialist ensures the parent’s voice and choice is respected and implemented throughout the course of treatment. The Parent Partner/Peer Specialist empowers parents/caregivers in achieving self-sufficiently and independence and provides coaching and support in completing interventions and activities.
Requirements
Education/Experience
• Tier II: High school diploma/GED +2 years related work experience OR AA Degree
• Tier III: High school diploma/GED + 4 years related experience OR AA Degree + 2 years related work experience OR Certified Peer Specialist
• Tier IV: High school diploma or GED + 6 years related experience OR AA Degree + 4 years related experience OR Certified Peer Specialist + 2 years of experience
Licensure, Registration, Certification
• Valid CA driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
• Completion of CPR/First Aid/ProACT certification within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
