2020 Back to School Toolkit

Updated: Sep 24, 2020

As we enter a new, very uncertain school year - it’s important for parents, caregivers, and school personnel to know the signs that a young person is struggling with their mental health. Teachers, students, and parents have now been put at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether it’s remote learning or uncertain re-openings, the stress and anxiety is palpable.

With many teachers conducting classes remotely, and many families navigating virtual learning parents, caregivers and teachers need to work together to support each other and be there for students.

Mental Health America's 2020 Back to School Toolkit helps students, parents and school personnel navigate the uncharted territory of COVID-19.

This year’s toolkit includes:

Fact sheets for parents/teachers;

Fact sheets for children/teens;

Key messages and statistics;

Sample drop-in article; and

Sample social media post language and images.
